Homemade BBQ Sauce
I make a lot at once, if you just want a little you can cut the recipe into quarters, ie: 1 cup ketchup 1/4 cup water etc.
Add olive oil to sauce pan with onions and garlic and sautee til tender and lightly brown. Add rest of ingredients and simmer until thickened.
For sweet bbq sauce I add 1/4 cup white sugar and 1/4 cup brown sugar.
For pineapple bbq sauce add 2 sliced grilled pineapple rings and 3 tablespoons of pineapple juice per bottle.
For spicy bbq sauce, add 2 roasted jalapenos finely chopped per bottle or powdered cayenne pepper to taste.
Tastes best after sitting in fridge for 2-3 days.
